The Handball Spezial Night Indigo is solid for the price, I guess. €154.50 is hard to argue with. But the Nike Dunk Low Premium Setsubun does something different... it kind of exists in its own lane. Like, everyone I know has this kind of sneaker. The Setsubun sits at €285.95, which is more, yeah. But you're getting the Premium construction and that whole Setsubun thing going on, which the Handball Spezial doesn't really match. The other adidas options fall somewhere in between. The BW Army Lux White Gum at €187.80 is cleaner, maybe. And the Nike Calm Slide Flat Pewter at €112.45 is... different category entirely, kind of. Slides are slides. Here's the thing though. The Dunk Low Premium Setsubun just works, I don't know. It's that shoe everyone seems to reach for. The Premium leather, the whole package... it's fine. Better than fine, actually. Not to say the Handball Spezial is bad or anything. It's actually respectable. It just doesn't have that same... presence, I guess. The Setsubun feels more considered, more intentional. Only small thing, and maybe I'm overthinking it, but €285.95 is real money. If you're on a budget, the Handball Spezial genuinely works. But if you're already thinking about the Dunk Low, the Premium version is the one to get. It's there for a reason.

The Handball Spezial sits at half the price, which is hard to ignore. Dark colorway, vintage vibe, suede construction... it's fine, genuinely. But the Dunk Low has this gravitational pull that the adidas doesn't, everyone gravitates toward Nike in this space, so resale holds better and you're not explaining why you picked something different. Sometimes following what sticks around is just the smarter move, even if it costs more.
