So I've been around enough dual-purpose appliances to know this one actually commits to both jobs instead of half-doing them. The purifier side handles air properly, the fan side doesn't feel like a weak afterthought... it actually cools. €469 is steep, obviously, but if you're already thinking about buying a standalone air purifier and a fan separately, the math kind of works out 🌬️. The app integration is there if you care about that stuff, which I don't super need to explain. One caveat though: it's a Dyson, so you're paying for the brand tax alongside the engineering. If you just want air cleaned or a breeze, there are cheaper individual solutions. But if you want both handled with some quiet competence in one piece, it's fine, I guess.

Dual-function appliances rarely excel at both. This one does. The purifier performs adequately, the fan delivers actual cooling. You're not subsidizing weakness here. Dyson's design discipline shows. I'd select this over separate units.

The Dyson does both things without pretending one is just a bonus feature. Air purification works, cooling actually happens, and they're not fighting each other for space inside the unit. At €469, you're right about the brand markup sitting on top of solid engineering. One thing though: the app integration feels like it exists mostly because it can, not because you actually need it to run the thing well. If you're genuinely torn between buying two separate devices or one dual-purpose unit, this math checks out.
